Vision to Learn (5/4/23): recently provided vision screenings to students at Charlotte Lab School . Through this process, Vision to Learn identified students who will have an eye exam onsite at Lab. If your student was identified for an eye exam they will bring home the attached form with more information.
If your student was identified for an eye exam, they will be bringing home a form with more information and will follow the following process:
- Eye Exams - Eye exams will be given on board the Vision To Learn mobile clinic on-site at the school, students will receive a routine eye exam (no dilation or eye drops) from a licensed independent optometrist [the doctor]. If needed, your child may also be prescribed glasses. The optometrist [doctor] will notify you if your student needs follow-up eye care.
- Glasses - If the doctor issues an eyeglass prescription, your child will: 1) Choose from a large selection of frames, 2)receive Vision Evaluation Results to share at home, and 3) receive the glasses at the school four weeks after the exam. If your child is absent on the day of the glasses visit, the glasses will be left at the school.
