I believe deeply in the potential of all students and I work with passion and urgency to reimagine, define, and inspire what’s possible in public education. As the Head of Instruction, I look forward to leading and supporting a school’s most valuable assets - its teachers.
I have been leading teachers and coaches in Pre-K through 12th grade in all subject areas since 2007. Not only have I gotten to learn what great teaching looks like and how to develop teachers of all abilities and experience levels, I’ve also gotten to see the creativity and ingenuity that great teachers bring to their students, classrooms, and school communities.
After beginning my teaching and coaching career in Louisiana, I returned to my hometown of Charlotte, NC to pursue school leadership. Experiences with Teach For America, New Leaders for New Schools, KIPP, and others helped shape my path. After serving as a principal in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, I proudly joined the Charlotte Lab School community as a founding member in 2015 and have led the Primary School campus for the past three years.
Outside of school, I enjoy trying new recipes, watching sports, home improvement projects, and playing with my dog, Linus.
