Kiara Lawrence

I have been serving in the Charlotte community as an educator for over 7 years and I am excited to continue my journey at Charlotte Lab School. I recently gained my Masters in Teaching Foreign Language and I have experience teaching languages to students of all ages in and outside or the United States.

As a big believer in authentic and culturally relevant learning, I support children genuinely expressing themselves in the lesson and exploring their personal method of learning. I am passionate about improving the literacy rates in my community as well as increasing students' motivation in the classroom. I aim to serve the urban communities with hopes to help make a quality education easily accessible and obtainable by underserved children. 

In my free time I like to spend time with family and friends. I love a good karaoke and game night. I also like to spend time outdoors whether it is relaxing in the sun or taking a strenuous hike. I enjoy reading alone as well as with my 5 year old daughter. 

I am excited to join Lab so that I can be a part of a team that allows me to express my creativity in the classroom. I am also happy to be a part of a supportive team that cares about the well being of its staff and students.
