Mary Royall Wright

My educational journey has been a long and extremely fulfilling one. As a child of educators who felt strongly about representing students from all types of backgrounds, I had amazing role models. As I pursued my educational journey, it took me from teaching in the public schools to becoming a founding member of Charlotte Lab School in 2015 where I taught kindergarten until December, 2023. I have also had amazing experiences as Director of Dilworth Weekday School, as well as director of a successful summer camp program that I designed alongside a former colleague. Over the past two years, I have explored my interest in being an entrepreneur. This has been an enlightening experience and one I have learned a lot from, but I am ready to get back into the world of education, working to support children. I was thrilled to accept a job back at Charlotte Lab as K-2 Lead! It will be great to see old faces and meet new people as well. I am a mom of 2 daughters, Madeline, a recent graduate of Clemson University and Martha, a rising junior at Chapel Hill. I live with my husband, Rick, and our 2 furry friends, Finn & Oliver.
