Ayesha Edwards
Ayesha was born and raised in Trinidad and migrated to New York at the age of 17 where she then spent most of her life. She has lived in England and Virginia, and is excited about her relocation to Charlotte this summer.
After obtaining both her BA in Journalism and MA in Educational Psychology from New York University, Ayesha spent her entire career in the field of education serving in various instructional and administrative capacities and at different types of institutions including traditional public schools, charter schools and a private/boarding school. During this time, she obtained a Post Grad Certificate in Research Methods from the University of Surrey in England and her administration certification from the College of Saint Rose in New York. She recently completed a dual Masters in Christian Education and Public Theology at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Virginia and is very passionate about social justice and opportunities for youth to be the change that the world so desperately needs through awareness, advocacy and agency.
Ayesha loves to travel, play board and card games, write and perform poetry and most of all spend time with her four children: Caleb, Abigail, Seth & Joshua along with other family members and friends. She hopes to go skydiving someday soon and proudly declares that she would give up chocolate but she's not a quitter! #ChocolateChocolate #AnyFoodChocolateFlavored :-)
